Todd Allard is a Global Strategic Advisor with Phronesis Partners, contributing senior marketing strategy leadership to client engagements. He is a four-time Chief Marketing Officer with more than 30 years of experience building and repositioning brands across consumer, retail, B2B, and financial services companies.

Todd is a diagnostic-first strategist known for building differentiated brand positioning from the inside out — aligning leadership teams around what makes a company worth choosing before taking that story to market. His ability to translate customer insight into focused commercial strategy makes him a trusted partner to organizations pursuing growth in complex or highly competitive environments.

He has led marketing at companies as different as omnichannel retailers LL Flooring and Northern Tool & Equipment, fintech: Prizeout, and Zenith Education Group — each engagement defined by a combination of strategic repositioning and hands-on execution through the customer experience. At LL Flooring, he led a complete brand reinvention — new name, new positioning, and a new customer experience targeting an underserved audience. At Northern Tool & Equipment, he served as SVP Marketing and GM of a $600M direct-to-customer business, driving record top-line performance in a recessionary environment. Earlier in his career, Todd spent 15 years in the advertising agency world, leading brand development for some of the world’s most recognized brands like Best Buy/Geek Squad, NestlePurina, General Mills, S.C. Johnson and Wm. Wrigley Co.

At Phronesis, Todd applies his brand strategy expertise to growth markets where the opportunity is real but differentiation is the unlock — environments where simply showing up isn’t enough and where winning requires a precise understanding of who decides, what they value, and how to position a company to earn their confidence.

Todd is an Executive Scholar at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Iowa State University, and studied International Business at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. He serves on the board of Minnesota Autism Centers and chairs its Search (CEO) and Board Development Committees. He lives in Chanhassen, MN, with his family and can usually be found on his bike, at Orchestra Hall, or in his garden.
