Currently, Al is a Senior Advisor for Phronesis where he helps guide the groups efforts with ourfinancial services and sovereign wealth fund clients as well as overall growth and alliance/partnerships for Phronesis. Inaddition to Al’s duties with Phronesis, Al is a Strategic Advisor and Board Member for 2 Software Companies, IIO (aEuropean voice technology start-up), and Data Scava (designer and implementor of an un-structured data searchengine).
Al is a seasoned advisor known for driving growth through strategy and strong partnerships. His experience enables organizations to scale and succeed in global markets.
Al Co-founded the Gartland and Mellina Group (GMG) a management consulting firm in 2009. As their CEO, Al grew thecompany to a $25 Million, 120-person Global Organization with offices in New York/New Jersey, Baltimore, Chicago,Toronto and London. Al sold the firm in May of 2019 to an international consulting company, Sia Partners. Prior to GMG,Al was a partner at KPMG/BearingPoint for 12 years managing multi-million-dollar engagements for Financial Servicesfirms in the US, Europe and Asia.
Al Began his career as a Systems Engineer for Grumman Aerospace assigned to NASA’s Lunar Module Program. Al alsois a graduate of Iona University with a BS in Physics/Mathematics and an MBA.
